Homelife

Homelife is a group based mostly in Manchester, signed to the Ninja Tune label. Homelife is not a definite entity. It's hard to pin down their sound, how many people are in the band or even which band they are in! Nearly every Homelife track has a different line up. Less of a collective, Homelife is more of a pool of musicians whose talents are marshalled by reluctant foreman Paddy Steer. There's a do-it-yourself ethos evident in Homelife.

Tricky

Adrian Thaws (born January 27, 1968), better known as Tricky, is an English rapper and musician who is important in the trip-hop scene (despite loathing the tag) and remains influential on the british scene more generally. He is noted for an asthmatic whispering lyrical style that is half-rapped, half-sung. As a producer and a musician he is known for having an aversion to perfection preferring to build up a dark, rich and layered sound. Culturally, Tricky bridges white and black Britain particularly in his fusion of rock and hip-hop, high art and pop culture.

Duotone

Duotone is the latest alias from Dutchmen Chris Beemster and Auke Ferwerda. Two years ago (2007) they met up, and ever since things have been a rough ride. When Chris accidentally put on his 3d glasses during the first studio session, he undoubtedly set a new fashion trend, but more importantly established Duotone’s best kept secret in pursuit of that extra dimension in music. Thus far they have been on a neotrance, techno infused safari, stopping at labels such as Deep Focus and Hotkitchen, and more recently Satoshi Tommiie’s SAW Recordings together with Paris house legend DJ Yellow...
